Today his legacy lives on through his family which will never forget his sacrifice and the generosity of organizations like the 100 Club of Chicago.

During the evening of January 14th, 1983, Tactical Officer Larry Vincent CPD #15161 was killed while protecting and serving the City of Chicago. A month earlier he turned 29. He was a husband to a beautiful wife and loving mother, Marilyn, a father to two sons, Jason and Anthony, and expecting to experience the birth of his third child, Donald, nearly six months later.

A third generation Chicago police officer, he was called to this work and was passionate about it. He received many citations and awards in his short career recognizing his dedication and hard work to the Chicago Police Department and the citizens it serves. His excellence as a police officer was exceeded only by his brilliance as a father, husband and family man. Larry Vincent loved with no abandon. His smile brightened rooms. His love showed us all how to be better brothers, sons, partners and human beings.
